GMC poll: Gauhati High Court show-cause to Dispur, civic body

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has asked the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and the State government to show the reasons as to why they haven't held GMC elections for about two years.

Hearing a PIL (72/2020) filed by Mira Barthakur Goswami on November 26, the bench of Chief Justice (acting) N Kotiswar Singh and Justice Manish Choudhury issued the show-cause notice to the government and the civic body.
