GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is preparing to erect a multi-level automated car parking at MG Road, Panbazar in Guwahati. According to sources, the parking will be inaugurated by February 15, 2021.
The multi-level parking adjacent to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital has been freshly painted and the other minor construction work are in process.
The multi-level car project was sanctioned way back in 2011 with a cost of Rs 10.54 crore. The parking has the facility to accommodate 250 vehicles (four-wheeler) at a time. It is to be noted that the project which was given to Simplex Project Limited, Calcutta was left abandoned for the past four years, resulting in serious traffic jams around Panbazar.
