Gorchuk Police Arrested Oil thieves from Betkuchi

GUWAHATI: The Gorchuk Police on Monday arrested a gang of crude oil thieves from Betkuchi area. The police have seized an oil tanker bearing registration number AS01HC7856, which was being loaded at IOC Betkuchi and was suppose to travel to Meghalaya. The police nabbed the accused when they were unloading the oil at a garage in the area. Driver of the vehicle have been identified as Mahendra Prasad Mahato (63) and the handyman as Ram Uday Mahato (61). Both are residents of Mendipathar area in Meghalaya. Along with the duo, the police held two workers of the garage who have been identified as Milan Bodo (42) of Sualkuchi and Kumud Das (28) of Lalung Gaon. A case has been registered against the accused under section 120 (B)/371/411 IPC and the further investigation is on.
