GUWAHATI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized cannabis, gold, and heroin in three separate operations. In one operation, a search was conducted by the GRP at the Rani Kamalapati Express that led to the recovery of suspected cannabis and the apprehension of three accused. According to sources, the GRP seized three packages of cannabis weighing around 9 kg, 3 kg each. The team apprehended Niraj Kumar (24), Devsharan Kumar (23), and Manish Kumar (20), all three from Bihar. The three were travelling from Agartala to Katihar Junction. In another operation, the GRP seized suspected heroin (brown sugar) weighing about 14 grams and apprehended Bijay Kumar (29) of Bidupur Ganinath, Bihar. According to sources, he was travelling from Agartala to Hajipur, Bihar, by the same train. Again, 10 suspected gold bars weighing 1.390 kg were seized by the GRP and apprehended by Pyarelal Sah (65) of Bihar. He was travelling from Agartala to Chapra, Bihar, by the same train.
