GPC under Nogaon Rupahihat Development Block terminated from his job

GUWAHATI: Riazul Islam, GPC (Gaon Panchayat Coordinator), Gereki GP under Rupahihat Development Block, Nagaon has been terminated from his job with effect from August 25.

According to a press release, GPC Islam committed gross financial irregularities in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna- Gramin Scheme.

During inquiry it comes to light that the GPC transferred Rs 1,30,000 to his wife's bank account which was supposed to be received by Joynal Abedin, a PMAY-G beneficiary of Garematikhowa village under Gereki GP for his PMAY-G house.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nagaon Zila Parisad inquired into the case and found the GPC guilty. Then the CEO sent the enquiry report to the Commissioner, P & RD, Assam for necessary action. On the basis of the report Hemen Das, Commissioner, P & RD has terminated GPC Riazul Islam, a press release said.
