Guwahati: 55 cattle recovered; three arrested

GUWAHATI: In a bid to foil cattle smuggling, a team from East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Jorabat Out Post under Basistha Police Station recovered 55 cattle that were to be smuggled into Meghalaya.

According to sources, the team arrested three smugglers, identified as Hermen Lyngdoh of Namdonga, Kini Dkhar of Mookhon, and Soniki Tariang of Jowai.

The team also intercepted two trucks bearing registrations AS27 C6834 and AS25 AC9890 at Jorabat Link Road while they were trying to smuggle.
