President of Guwahati Auto-rickshaw Owners' Association Yusuf Ahmed said that at a meeting convened by him the four of the committees came into the decision for forming the new coordination committee so that the new committee can play a role in solving the problems faced by auto-rickshaw drivers of the city.
Ahmed said, "Among many who had to go through a lot of difficulty due to the nationwide lockdown, the auto-rickshaw drivers of the city have also been suffering a lot. The source of earning our daily wage completely dried up putting our drivers into distress. Though we appealed to administration quite a few times, we received no positive response from them. The newly formed committee will soon sit for a meeting and it'll decide the future activities as to how to proceed to solve the miseries faced by the drivers."
