Guwahati: Burglar Steals Rs 25,000 From Dakhingaon Jama Masjid

Guwahati: A burglar has stolen Rs 25,000 from the donation box after he trespassed into Jama Masjid at Dakhingaon in Guwahati.

The incident took place on Thursday early morning and a case has been registered in this regard.

As per the reports, the robbery came to light when the imam reached Jama Masjid Imam in the morning and found that both doors and donation box were opened.

Following this, the imam immediately scanned the CCTV footage and the robbery was confirmed.

''A person entered the mosque and broke the donation box. The entire incident was caught on camera. The same has been shared with the city police,'' Imam said while speaking to the media.

According to imam, this is the second time when a burglar entered the Jama Masjid premises and looted cash from the donation box.
