Guwahati city undergoes beautification for G20 summit

GUWAHATI: As the G20 approaches, the State Government and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) are gearing up for the beautification of the city.

GMC had ordered to repaint the walls, clean up the drainage system, remove all the unwanted banners, hoardings etc, before February 1. Under construction buildings all need to be covered up while cleaning of the riverside and tourists spots have all started along with lighting and decoration on the streets. According to GMC officials, the eviction of roadside vendors has started in places like Rukminigaon, Ganeshguri and along the highway.
