GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (M) district authority has made it clear that movement of all private vehicles, including two wheelers, is banned during the COVI-19 Lockdown in Guwahati.

No citizen is allowed to venture out of home with private vehicles, except for medical emergency during the lockdown beginning from 6 pm of July 12 to 7 pm of July 19.

In a press note the district authority said that all public transport services shall remain suspended and all non-essential and avoidable movement of people shall be banned. All transport services and movement of people from other districts shall also remain suspended except that connected to CCOVID functions.

Inter-state movement shall also remain suspended except with permissions/pass. However, persons holding train /air tickets to and from Guwahati shall be allowed to move on production of such tickets.

Movement of persons/vehicles related to various other exempted categories shall be allowed as per the guidelines. All such persons are requested to cooperate with the police at various check points, the press note added.
