Guwahati: Government Railway Police caught thieves for stealing electric poles

GUWAHATI: The Government Railway Police (GRP) in New Guwahati caught red-handed a gang of eight thieves who were allegedly stealing electric poles. The eight are identified as PR Jahamulla, Rajak Hussain, and Musdur Sheikh, all three from South Salmara; Mangal Bahadur from Rupnagar, Guwahati; Banjit Das from Barpeta; Kadir Ali from Boko; and Rafiqul Ali from Sualkuchi. Two of their gang members are on the run. According to sources, the gang was loading 11 electric poles on a truck bearing registration AS 01 FC 2750 on the night of August 24 and the GRP caught them.
