Guwahati Municipal Corporation evicts vendors from Noonmati

GUWAHATI: The officials of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) carried out an eviction drive to remove the street vendors who have been allegedly occupying space and selling products without any authorization from the local authorities on Thursday. This is part of the ongoing eviction process being carried out by GMC across Guwahati City.

Eviction drives are being carried out on a regular basis across the city to ensure that illegal vending can be prevented in the city as well as to prevent the traffic woes of the city. The officials also mentioned that, from now on, strict actions will be taken against illegal vending in public areas. Multiple task forces have been constituted by GMC for this purpose, and perpetrators will be fined from now on.
