Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducts eviction drive

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation Enforcement Team and Veterinary Branch Team on Tuesday inspected Narengi, Noonmati (Sector 2), Bamunimaidam Railway Colony, Fatasil, Athgaon and Maligaon areas to ensure proper lockdown norms are followed. During the inspection many roadside vending of vegetables, fruits and poultry were seen disobeying Government of Assam, order no. ASDMA 20/2020/84 dated July 5, 2020. Accordingly the GMC evicted vendors and seized vegetables and poultry from several shops in the following areas – Narengi Kalongpar, Noonmati Sector-1, Noonmati, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati Club, AT Road. Fatasil, Dhirenpara, and Maligaon. The seized items were distributed to Snehalaya, Km Road and Indian Council for Child Welfare, Ambari.
