GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has decided to construct 24 crematoriums in the city. According to GMC officials, the estimated amount for each of the 24 projects has been kept at Rs 19.82 lakh. The authorities also mentioned that the bidding process will be completed in the month of July itself and the allocations will be done in August.
The following is the list of locations where the renovation or construction of new projects will be taken up. Improvement of cremation ground in Ward no 1, Cremation ground at Gosaigaon in Ward No 11, Janaja Ghar in Kabristan in Garigaon in Ward no 1, Cremation ground in Bapuji Nagar in Ward No 56, Cremation ground at Gita Mandir Samshan in Ward no 37, Cremation ground in Ward no 40, 50, 57 and 55, Burial ground in ward 55, Bharalu Cremation Ground in Ward no 29, Cremation ground in Kaliya Kanai Maimam in Borsajai in Ward 43. Cremation ground in Bongaon, Beltola in Ward no 47, Construction of road at Hatigaon Cremation ground in Ward no 42. Koinadhora Rajahua Samshan in Ward no 45, Cremation ground in Ward no 59, Improvement of Cremation ground in ward no 60, Construction of Road at Dakhingaon Seuj Pur Kahilipara Crematorium in Ward no 41, Crematorium in Beltola in Ward no 46, Development of Katabari no 2 Kabristhan in Ward no 23, Cremation ground at the Betkuchi Anchalic Rajahua Smokhan in Ward no 22, Cremation Ground in Fatasil Ambari Janajatiya Smokhan in Ward No 20, Development of cremation ground at Saptarathi Morikhali Smokhan at Hiribapur in Ward no 25 and Cremation ground at Saukuchi Rajahua Smakhan in Ward no 24.
