Guwahati NCC cadets take part in Fit India Freedom Run

GUWAHATI: NCC cadets of Guwahati Gp NCC participated in the culminating event of "Fit India Freedom Run" on Saturday with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The event which was organized by NCC, in association with Mayromanok, included a cycle rally and jungle trek. The cycling team comprising both boy and girl cadets of NCC was flagged off from Guwahati by Brig J C Talukdar, Cdr NCC Gp Guwahati. The team covered a distance of approx 30 km up to Chattargaon village on the outskirts of the city. Another team of cadets carried out trekking in the jungles around Chattargaon village, which covered a distance of around 15 km, witnessing the mesmerising beauty of Theopani waterfall and meandering streams there.

The NCC cadets also interacted with locals particularly people of the Rabha community. They also conveyed social messages of "Physical and Mental Fitness" through running, exercises/yoga and "Swatch Bharat Abhiyan", a press release said.
