Guwahati Police arrested Congress leaders in their bid to gherao Raj Bhawan

GUWAHATI: The City Police detained some top Congress leaders, including Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Kumar Borah today, when the party leaders were on their way to gherao Raj Bhawan in protest against inflation, unemployment and GST on food items.

Borah said, "Congress will not tolerate such dictatorship of the ruling party. The inflation, GST on food items and unemployment have hit the common people badly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led's government has ruined the country's economy."

The APCC sent a memorandum of their demands to the President via the State Governor.
