Guwahati Police foil attempts to smuggle cows

GUWAHATI: A team from the Jorabat Outpost of the Basistha Police Station falling under the East Guwahati Police District on Thursday foiled two attempts to smuggle cattle in Byrnihat of Jorabat. The team was able to rescue a total of 31 cattle from two trucks bearing registration numbers AS 12 CC 1734 and AS 01 NC 4008. They were also able to arrest 5 smugglers from Byrnihat in regards to this incident and legal steps have been undertaken.
