GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police have solved two kidnapping cases and rescued the victims. The two kidnapping cases were registered on September 3 and September 5 at Dispur Police Station and Khetri Police Station respectively. The victims in both these cases were minor girls. In both cases the accused had lured the girls.

Based on intelligence as well as technical support, after persistent follow-up by East Guwahati Police District in the Khetri Police Station case, the victim and accused were located in Lanka, Hojai district. The accused – Md Amanuddin (22), son of Md Jamaluddin of village Udali Borzuha in Lanka, Hojai – was arrested and brought to Khetri Police Station. The victim girl was rescued and necessary legal steps have been taken.

In the Dispur Police Station case, the accused and the victim were tracked by the Investigating Officer in a bus bound for Dhubri from Goalpara. Chapar Police helped by intercepting the bus and tracing both the accused and the victim. The accused – Prashad Majhi (30), son of Sadananda Majhi, under Tarabari PS in Barpeta district – was arrested and the victim was rescued. Both will be brought to Dispur PS for further course of legal action.
