Guwahati Refinery organizes workshop on water conservation

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Refinery (GR) on Wednesday organized a workshop and a quiz competition among the township ladies on the topic "Water conservation ".The workshop was attended by the ladies of the three townships of Guwahati Refinery.

The speakers of the workshop, Prof. Deepanjali Gogoi, HOD, Chemical Engg Deptt and Pratasha Das, Lecturer, Chem. Engg Deptt of Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati gave a vivid presentation highlighting the present status of water consumption and water stress scenario. In the presentation, various water conservation measures that can be taken up in daily lives were highlighted. The program also witnessed a brief presentation on the Intake Water scenario of Guwahati Refinery which was followed by a quiz competition on Water Conservation.

It may also be mentioned that Guwahati Refinery is conducting several awareness programmes like slogan competition for employees, contractual workers, an Art competition in schools, leaflet distribution in townships on water consumption and display of posters inside the refinery on the topic "SAVE WATER" for generating awareness among the stakeholders for water conservation.
