GUWAHATI: At least seven Assam Engineering College (AEC) students have tragically perished in a vehicle accident that occurred in the early hours of Monday in Guwahati's Jalukbari neighbourhood.
Ten people were in the car that the students had rented when the accident happened, according to sources.
According to a report, they were travelling in a Scorpio car with the licence plate As 01 GC 8829 when the driver lost control, crossed over a divider, and collided with a Bolero DI pickup van in the opposite lane on the Guwahati side of the Jalukbari Flyover road at 1 in the morning.

Rajkiran Bhuyan from Majuli

Moreover, all three people in the DI vehicle were also sent to GMCH for immediate treatment at the same time.
Taking on Twitter, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "Extremely anguished by the loss of young and precious lives in the road accident at Jalukbari. My deepest condolences to their parents and families.
Have spoken to authorities at GMCH. All possible medical assistance is being provided to those injured.”
On the other hand, on May 20, a bike rider lost his life in a deadly traffic collision at Haripur, in the Nalbari district of Assam. The incident happened early on Sunday morning. Tragically, a rider lost control and sent his bike careening into a ditch.
