Abandoned Vehicle Parking Complaints: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic Pranjit Borah said that the car owners in the city whose abandoned vehicles are being allegedly parked at various streets in the city should be removed effective May 27, 2021.

Addressing the media DCP Traffic Pranjit Borah said, "We have found that many road spaces in the city are being remained unused due to road blockages by abandoned cars or old vehicles. The owners are being directed to remove their cars immediately to avoid any kind of legal action against them. All the owners will have to make their arrangements within May 27, as from May 28, the city traffic police will launch a drive in this regard." The announcement comes after a high level meeting was held and as per decision taken, the owners of such vehicles have been given a time frame till May 27 to remove such vehicles or action will be taken as per law.

Further the DCP Traffic also appeal the public for such vehicles parked in lanes which may not come to the light of the department, in that case the traffic police should be informed.

Meanwhile, DCP Borah also informed that following the enforcement of the curfew in the state, the city traffic police has collected a fine of Rs 14,84,500 against 1185 fine cases from May 4 to 22. The number of non-FIR cases submitted within this period was 3200, and vehicles seized are 439 in the city, DCP Borah stated further.

DCP Borah also said that since the implementation of "Odd-Even" formula the traffic violation have come down.

Speaking on the intra-district travel ban, the top cop said that enforcement drives are been carried out since the start of the travel ban in the state.
