GUWAHATI: Two persons were detained with a pangolin from the Khanapara area on Monday during a joint operation conducted by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Sub Regional Office Guwahati and Guwahati Territorial Division of Assam Forest Department.

The pangolin was being transported by - Manab Rabha, a resident of Barpeta district and Pallab Dhar, a resident of Khanapara. The duo has been detained by the operation team and a Hyundai I10 Car has been seized from their possession. The accused bought the pangolin from some persons in Goalpara to sell it in Guwahati.

The operation was headed by Hiten Borah of WCCB under supervision of Assistant Director of WCCB Guwahati Jawaharlal Baro.
