Harit Diwali-Swasth Diwali Campaign to create awareness

GUWAHATI: To support ‘Harit Diwali- Swasth Diwali’ – Ministry of Environment GOI), Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India campaign, Rural Women Upliftment Association of Assam (RWUAA) are going to take a series of programme to create awareness and to prevent the issues that may arise because of fire cracker bursting.

The RWUAA chairman, SK Borodoloi said that the ‘Harit Diwali- Swasth Diwali’ is scheduling to celebrate an intensive series of programs starting with a flagging off rally from Dighali Pukhuri on October 23 at 8 am. A series of street plays are also scheduled to be organized on October 24 at different parts of the city on the theme, minimization of bursting of crackers, followed by awareness cum sensitization programme. “RWUAA is not only focusing on creating awareness but also includes an after Diwali Cleanliness Drive on October 29 and 30 along with plantation of saplings in different eco-clubs of Kamrup (M) schools,” said Bordoloi.
