Heroin seized, nine arrested from various locations in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, the Jalukbari Police conducted a day-long anti-drug search and raids in various locations of the city on Monday.

A team, both in uniform and in civilian clothes led by ACP and OC of Jalukbari Police Station conducted raids in various locations and arrested a total of nine persons along with 32 vials of brown sugar.

It also seized six vehicles - Hyundai Verna (AS01 BA 6629), Swift Dezire (AS 01 DN 0516), three Scooties, one Pulsar motorcycle. According to reports, Rs 18,430 and seven mobile phones were also recovered by the team which was under the guidance and supervision of DCP (West) and ADCP (West).

The accused are - Abhijit Das (34), Rekib Ali (29), Jiten Das (30), Deep Kalita (24), Pranab Das (23), Biki Das (28), Sashanka Modgulya (24), Jitu Kumar Das (25) and Shah Jamal Hoque (28).
