HS 1st year examinations postponed due to COVID pandemic

GUWAHATI: Due to the surging COVID-19 cases across the State, the ensuing higher secondary (HS) 1st year examinations under the Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC) have been postponed.

The exams were scheduled to be held from May 4. This was informed to the media by AHSEC Chairman Dr Dayananda Borgohain.

He underlined that though the 1st year examinations have been postponed, no decision has been taken to postpone the HS final year examinations which will be held from May 11.

"There is no possibility of to cancel the final year examinations. However, it might be postponed," said Borgohain.

The AHSEC Chairman added that after the completion of the election process on May 2, the Council will hold discussions with the government regarding the conduct of the final year examinations.
