GUWAHATI: In a horrid incident, two girls were reportedly saved from a suspected human trafficking attempt in Guwahati. One of them is a minor. An NGO, the Assam Centre for Rural Development, conducted the rescue operation at an OYO hotel in the Lal Ganesh area on Tuesday and recovered the two girls.

According to sources, the two girls were supposed to be trafficked from Silchar to Mumbai. The Fatasil Police arrived at the site after being informed.

Other than the two girls, the police also took Rahul Ahmed Laskar into custody. But his role has yet to be known.

According to sources, the two girls are in shelter homes, and a missing report has been filed against the minor girl in Silchar.
