GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) Guwahati observed 'Swachhta Pakhwada-2021' with several programmes to raise awareness on cleanliness in the society.
The 15-day programme was undertaken under the 'Swachha Bharat Mission' of the Government of India and as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
IIE Director Dr Abhijit Sharma, and Administrative Officer Nayanmoni Hazarika, launched the programme on July 16 by administering the 'Swachhta Pledge' to the employees of IIE. The programme continued till July 30.
Various activities took place during the 'Swachhta Pakhwada' fortnight. The activities included display of banners or posters conveying the 'Swachhta' message at prominent places and also on the notice board and the IIE website.
Awareness drives were carried out to discourage the use of plastics — especially the use of single-plastics in office premises.
The staffers devoted an hour for general cleanliness of the work space, and also on article writing on 'Swachhta Pakhwada', as well as 'Water Conservation" besides the display of 'Swachhata' activities on the social media.
Keeping in mind the ongoing COVID-19 protocols, a session was also organized on 'Hygienic & Sanitation'. A cleanliness drive was undertaken within the office campus.
A campaign was also carried out on the need to replace the plastic folders and to promote the use of jute, cloth bags and folder, as well as reuse of waste paper. During the programme, old and used furniture and files and other such items were deposit in the store.
A competition was organised on the idea — 'Best out of Waste', as well as a competition on slogan writing on 'e-waste' and 'Swachh Bharat' was also held. The programme concluded with the distribution of awards and participant certificates amongst the employees, stated a release.
