Illegal Railway e-tickets of more than Rs 1 Lakh seized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Information was received from a reliable source regarding the involvement of a travel agency ‘Digital Hub’ located at Kotahbari under PS- Gorchuk, in the illegal business of procuring and supplying of railway e-tickets using personal user ID. RPF Inspector collected sufficient evidences against the said travel agency and with the help of local police, conducted raid in presence of owner of the agency Kusheswar Kalita, 40, of Tokradia, Hajo.

In course of the search, 95 railway e-tickets generated using person user ID recovered of Rs1,09,773.07 (One Lac Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Three Rupees and Seven Paise) was recovered. The recovered railway e-tickets (personal user) along with other relevant items have been seized and the owner of the agency has been taken into custody and brought to RPF/Post/KYQ. In this regard IPF/CIB/GHY lodged one complaint and IPF/KYQ registered a case vide No 964/19 U/S 143 Rlys Act.
