In continuation of celebration to commemorate the golden jubilee of India’ victory in the 1971 War, a reception ceremony of Victory Flame was organized by 51 Sub Area on Tuesday at Narangi Military Station.

GUWAHATI: In continuation of celebration to commemorate the golden jubilee of India' victory in the 1971 War, a reception ceremony of Victory Flame was organized by 51 Sub Area on Tuesday at Narangi Military Station. The event saw enthusiastic attendance of hundreds of guests, including civilian dignitaries, 1971 War Veterans, serving soldiers of Army, Air Force, BSF, SSB, ITBP and NCC students, stated a press release.

Jishnu Barua, Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam was the chief guest to grace the occasion. The Victory Flame was received by General Officer Commanding Maj Gen Vikas Saini, SM, VSM who handed over the Victory Flame to the Chief Secretary, who in turn dedicated the event to the people of Assam. The programme was followed by scintillating performance by NCC cadets and Khukhri dance by troops of 58 GTC and felicitation of war heroes of the 1971 War.
