Indian Meteorological Department issues warning for rains till July 7 in Assam

GUWAHATI: The Regional Meteorological Centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that rains will continue in Assam till July 7.

Due to the passing of an East-West Trough through the western part of the State, a good quantity of moisture is expected to be drawn from the Bay of Bengal region. This is expected to cause heavy to very heavy rains, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms during this period in a few places. Light to moderate rainfall is expected to take place at most places across the State during this duration.
