GUWAHATI: The Indigenous Tribal Sahitya Sabha, Assam (ITSSA) held its executive meeting at Socio-Literary Cultural Complex in Garchuk, Guwahati on Sunday.

Several resolutions were taken in the executive meeting. The ITSSA said they will start a civil movement if the tribal people are affected after the six ethnic communities are granted ST status.

It demanded the Assam government to release the corpus fund under the BhasaGauravAchoni before January, 2021. "Under this scheme, Rs 5 crore of BoroSahityaSabha, Rs 3 crore each for other tribal sahityasabhas should be released. Rs 50,000 announced for each of 350 litterateurs should also be release."

The Sabha opposed Finance Minister HimantaBiswaSarma's statement that general public will be able to procure land in BTC and tribal belts and blocks. The ITSSA demanded to take back his statement.
