GUWAHATI: The Jalukbari Police have arrested five persons in connection to a theft case where brass utensils were stolen from Bharali Varieties Shop at Maligaon on May 16. The accused are — Nagen barman (38) from Golakgang, Bhula Rai (19) from Pandu Station Colony, Bitu Giri (23) from Pandu Cabin, Sanjoy Sarkar (28) from BBC colony, and Md. Mubarak Ali (45) from Barpeta. It is to be mentioned that Md. Mubarak Ali was the receiver of the stolen items.

The police have recovered 22 items of various brass utensils which have a value of around Rs 7,50,000. Four mobile phones have also been recovered from the accused. A case (562/21) U/S 457/380 IPC has been registered at the Jalukbari Police Station in this regard.
