Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation demands enactment of strict population control law

GUWAHATI: The Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation (JSF) Northeast Chapter has appealed to all the people of Northeast including Assam's public representatives, MLAs, MPs and Ministers, stating, "If we truly feel proud of our history, culture and tradition then one should take a pledge before the Hengdang that in the coming days, a strict law against the rising population will be enforced in the nation, including Northeast in order to stop the large scale encroachment by the Rohingyas and illegal migrants from neighbouring country Bangladesh."

Through a release, JSF Northeast Chapter chairman SailendraPandey said the Assamese people, who never allowed the Mughals to invade the land of Assam, are facing a crisis today,

He said Assamese will become a minority in Assam today if the unnaturally self-serving population of Assam is not taken care of.

Notably, in the year 2017, the Assam Government has already passed a bill in the Legislative Assembly on the two-child policy. Based on this, the JSF demanded implementation of the same in government departments. In the month of August, the Government of Assam has already enforced the policy in 170 government posts at Assam Secretariat; however, JSF demands all Government departments should come under the provision of this act.

"But this is not enough. We need to take more action. The Central government should enact strict laws in this regard as soon as possible. Of course, with the advent of this law, a section of people will try to create confusion in the society, like the CAA movement; therefore, citizens of Assam will have to be very vigilant in the coming days." added Pandey.

"To commemorate Chaolung Sukapha and his rule, Assam celebrates Asom Divas on December 2 every year. Hence, on this auspicious day, let us all take the oath of allegiance to Hengdang so that no evil force can mislead us and as the sole guardian of the Assamese motherland, we can protect the nation, the soil, the land, the language, the culture," Pandey added.
