GUWAHATI: The Publication Board Assam (PBA) will confer the Jivan Jura Xadhana Award to litterateur Dr. Thaneswar Sarma for the year 2019 and educationist Dr Ramesh Pathak for 2020 on the 33rd Guwahati Book Fair on December 30.
A total of 117 book stalls from different parts of the State will be part of fair.
The PBA will release 12 books on the inauguration day. The 12 books will include Oiniton which has been edited by Sadananda Payeng, Narakasur written by Atul Chandra Hazarika and translated by Dr Dipak Kumar Sarma, Ambikagirir Xongram Aru Saroswat Sadhona written by Bhaggiri Rai Choudhury, among others.
The estimated budget of the book fair is Rs 50-60 lakh and the stall owners will a get a discount of 10 per cent for setting up their stalls.
The ending ceremony will held on January 10, 2021. Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister of State for Education Bhabesh Kalita, Axam Xahitya Xabha president Kuladhar Saikia and Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Taren Boro will also be a part of the ceremony.
