Kamrup Deputy Commissioner conducts sudden visit of schools

AMINGAON: After successfully organizing Gunotsav 2022 and with an aim to strengthen monitoring of schools' functioning, the Kamrup district administration has started sudden inspection of schools of the district on Thursday.

Today, the Deputy Commissioner and other administrative officials made sudden visits to the several High and LP schools of the district, including the Saraighat High School, and noticed several irregularities like non-attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff, delay in attending schools etc.

It is worth mentioning that the Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan, Kamrup has already constituted 9 teams under the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioners to strengthen monitoring of schools' functioning and to obtain information for addressing the school-based issues. Today, the teams also verified the infrastructure facilities like separate toilet facilities for both boys and girls, drinking water facilities and availability of pure drinking water under the Jal Jeevan Mission, providing midday meal as per weekly menu, electricity connection etc., of the concerned schools. The inspecting teams will submit the report to Deputy Commissioner and based on the report, disciplinary action will be taken.

The sudden inspection drive will continue in future as well, stated a press release.
