Guwahati: Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated at War Memorial on Dighalipukhuri's Banks

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Sainik Welfare organized an event to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas on Wednesday afternoon at the War Memorial Park on the bank of the Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati. Lt Gen (Retd) P K Bharali attended the event as the chief guest, and the Director of Sainik Welfare for Assam, Brigadier D Mazumder, gave the welcome speech. The dignitaries remembered the martyrs of the war and paid a floral tribute to the fallen soldiers. The dignitaries were also felicitated by the Lions Club.

Several patriotic songs were presented on the occasion, during which multiple soldiers shared their experiences on the battlefield with those present. In the evening, candles were lit in the park in remembrance of the heroes of the Kargil War.
