GUWAHATI: The excise department of Assam carried out an operation in an eatery in Guwahati on Tuesday night that led to the seizure of large quantities of foreign liquor. The raid was carried under the lead of Excise Superintendent, Manvi Das in Kori’s located on Zoo Road, and led to the seizure of a total of 31 cartons of illegal Korean liquor from the eatery. They had stocked this liquor for sale without legal permissions. This eatery specializes in Korean cuisine.

Speaking about the raid, Manvi Das said, “We received input from our sources that the restaurant was serving foreign liquors illegally. Based on the tip-off, we raided the restaurant and seized around 31 cartons of illegal Korean liquor. The restaurant manager has been detained for questioning. The restaurant was serving liquor without a valid bar licence.” She also informed that the price of per bottle was Rs 300.
