GUWAHATI: Bringing some changes in his announcement meant for relaxation of the lockdown in Guwahati as declared by his on Saturday, State Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna said on Sunday that all standalone grocery shops would be allowed to operate from 11 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday.

On Saturday, the Chief Secretary issued an order stating that grocery shops would be allowed to operate from 11 am to 4 pm only on Monday and Wednesday. However, today's order suppressed the earlier one.

However, house-to-house sale of fruits, vegetables etc would be allowed between 8 am and 2 pm only on Monday and Wednesday.

Another change that has been incorporated in his order on Sunday by the Chief Secretary is 'wholesalers of grocery items are allowed to replenish stocks of retailers on Sunday and Tuesday between 12 noon and 6 pm'. All these activities are allowed between July 5 and 12. The Chief Secretary, however, made it clear that no road-side vending of fruit, vegetable and fish would be allowed. He further said that all other restrictions as imposed earlier on June 26 would remain in force.
