'LGBT Pride Parade' taken out in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: Scores of youths took out the annual LGBT Pride Parade from Anuradha Cinema Hall to Dighalipukhuri Park here on Sunday.

Singer Abhishruti Bezbaruah in support of the community also joined the Pride Walk.

"We are all human beings and we should give a helping hand to the LGBT community. We can see the unity among them. The Assam government has taken a revolutionary step by giving reservation to this community in the Assam Public Service Commission," said Bezbaruah.

The aim of the Pride Walk was to spread awareness in the society about the community. The participants also urged the administration to focus on the welfare of the community.
