Local Goons Attack Singer Deeplina Deka At Chabua

GUWAHATI: Singer Deeplina Deka and her group, after a performance, met with a scare at Chabua, just a few kilometers from the Chief Minister’s residence, as some local goons tried to attack them.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Deeplina Deka said, “We were on our way from a programme in three vehicles. I was in the first one when we were followed by riders in bikes. They were probably under the influence of alcohol. We tried to outride them and the first car managed to do so, as the second car followed, it lightly hit a bike and this created uproar among these local goons. They tried to attack us and broke a few windows of the vehicles but we managed to escape unscratched.”
