Guwahati: Lt Colonel Mayank Bora of Indian Army, who passed away at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday was cremated with full military honour in Guwahati today.

His mortal remain was brought from Delhi to Guwahati. The Army paid befitting tributes to the officer. Veterans from the state also paid tributes to the Officer.

After the wreath Laying ceremony, the mortal remains of Colonel Bora was taken to Navagraha Crematorium for his final journey and was consigned to flame with full Military honour in presence of family members, relatives, and large crowd.

Col Maynak was the son of Former Colonel Biren Kumar Bora. He is survived by his wife Ankita and daughter Drishti.

The cause of his death is suspected to be a cardiac arrest. Bora was posted at a high altitude area in Drachula Sector on the Chinese border and was preparing to leave for home for a month.
