Major drug bust in Jorabat: STF of Assam apprehends suspected heroin peddler

GUWAHATI: In an operation conducted at 10 Mile, Jorabat, under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam successfully apprehended a drugs peddler-cum-rider, along with seizing a white Honda Activa bearing registration number AS-01-BK-9968. The raid, orchestrated by the STF, unfolded with the detention of Aminul Islam.

The seized items during the operation include 22 vials suspected to contain heroin, with a total weight of 29 grams. Additionally, authorities recovered Rs. 800 in cash and a Nokia keypad mobile phone from the apprehended individual. The seized items, along with the scooter, have been documented as per the official Seizure List.

Aminul Islam, currently residing at Sixmile, Dispur, Kamrup, is now under investigation. He is a resident of Champupara-Pathar village under Chayygaon Police station in Kamrup district.
