Man arrested by BIEO for forgery in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Bureau of Investigation (Economic Offences) (BIEO) has arrested one Dipjyoti Borah (42), a resident of Axel Public School Road under Garchuk Police Station and proprietor M/s Bajrang Infrastructure, on the charge of forging the signature of a person in order to illegally construct an apartment block on a plot of land at Bornali Path of Japarigog here.

The arrest has been made in connection with a case (No. 10/2020 u/s120(B)/420/406/468/471 IPC) registered at the BIEO Police Station on the basis of a complaint lodged by one Rajeev Kumar Sarmah (since deceased), who alleged that Borah, along with one Ranjit Kumar Sarma, had forged his signature while executing two agreements for construction of an apartment block on a plot of land of which the complainant was the co-owner.
