Guwahati: Some shopkeepers caught a man for allegedly, cheating them, on the pretext of providing loans from the State Bank of India (SBI), and roughed up him.

The accused, identified as one Rezaul Ali, collected money from some businessmen in the area promising them bank loans.

The businessmen alleged that Ali collected Rs. 6-7 thousand from each of them. But they could not receive the loans as promised by him even after a month. At last they caught and roughed up him.

" I pay Rs. 6 thousand to him. He promised us SBI loans. But we could not realize it according to his promise", a shopkeeper said.
