Man Caught Red-Handed While Looting ATM at Howkuchi

GUWAHATI: Gorchuk police arrested a person red-handed while making an attempt to loot an SBI (State Bank of India) ATM (Automated Teller Machine) at Howkuchi under Gorshuk police station in Guwahati on Saturday night. Arif, hailing from Haryana, was cutting the ATM machine with a gas-cutter when he was caught red-handed by the police personnel patrolling the area. The police seized an LPG cylinder, a gas-cutter, a mask, a pair of hand gloves and a few other materials from the possession of Arif. A case (724/19 under section 457/380/511/461/34 IPC, read with Section 3 of the PDPP Act, 1984) has been registered with Gorchuk police station in this connection.
