MLAs Take Oath on the 1st Day of Assam Legislative Assembly Session

GUWAHATI: Barring Siraj Uddin Ajmal of the AIUDF, 124 newly-elected MLAs of the State took oath at the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday. Protem Speaker Phani Bhushan Choudhury administered the oath of office to the legislators. While most of the MLAs took oath in Assamese, a few of them took oath in English, Bodo, Sanskrit, Nepali and Bengali. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath first.
