Mobile phone snatchers arrested in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team from the Basistha Police Station, which comes under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD), was able to arrest two mobile phone snatchers. Identified as twenty-eight-year-old Hasan Ali of Gossaigaon and twenty-six-year-old Ayush Islam of Sijubari Mazar in Guwahati, they had fled after snatching a mobile phone. The incident had taken place in the Lalmati area of the city, and the snatchers fled towards Beltola on a two-wheeler after committing the crime. The police managed to recover the stolen mobile phone and seize the vehicle bearing registration number AS 13 F 4217, which was used by the miscreants to flee. The police are conducting an investigation into the matter.
