GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Branch of EIRC (Eastern India Regional Council) of ICAI (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) along with the Guwahati Branch of EICASA (Eastern India Chartered Accountants Students Association ) of ICAI is hosting a two-day national conference 'Pragati – Committed to Progress', in the virtual mode on October 1 and 2 2021.
The EICASA is the students' wing of the ICAI's EIRC. It was formed under 'Regulation 81' of the 'Chartered Accountants Regulation-1988'.
Prof. Pratap Jyoti Handique, Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University; ICAI President CA Nihar N Jambusaria and CA Jay Chhaira, Chairman Board of Studies, ICAI have consented to attend the inaugural session of the conference.
The conference shall witness four technical sessions over two days from 10 am to 5 pm, wherein students will be presenting their papers on topics relating to 'Audit & Financial Reporting', Direct and Indirect Taxes and Corporate Laws. The sessions shall be chaired by experts in the above fields, stated a press release. The experts shall share their insights and knowledge with the students. The conference shall also witness a special interactive session as well as a motivational session.
CA Swati Tejawat, chairperson, Media & Publicity Committee informed that the mega conference is expected to be attended by almost 400+ delegates including members, students and special invitees from across the country. The virtual conference would present an excellent opportunity for exchange of academic thoughts and networking for the upcoming chartered accountants.
