GUWAHATI: Managing Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, Dr MS Lakshmi Priya, conducted a meeting through video conference with all district NHM teams in order to review the current flood situation in the State and the medical assistance provided to the flood-affected areas.
According to a press release, the meeting was attended by Dr Manoj Kumar Chaudhury, ED, NHM, Pomi Baruah, OSD, NHM and other senior officials from State NHM headquarter.
NHM's MD enquired about the flood affected areas of the districts and took stock about the availability of medicine supplies in the districts. The district NHM officials informed that the flood situation is under control and health teams are posted in all relief camps. In addition to this, MS Lakshmi Priya also discussed about the upcoming Yoga Day preparation in the districts. This year Yoga Day will be celebrated on June 21 across the State in 75 locations to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav -75 years of Independence. Two major Yoga events will be held in Dibrugarh and Tamulpur.
MS Lakshmi Priya also discussed the Special Ante-natal Care (ANC) drive which will be conducted in the last week of June. She concluded the meeting with a motivation quote to the district officials to continue their efforts in improving the health indicators of the State.
