National Human Rights Commission notice on death of teen

GUWAHATI: The Law Division of the NHRC (National Human Rights Commission) has asked State Health and Family Welfare Department to send an action taken report (ATR) on the death of a 16-year-old Raj Mazumdar of Tapan Nagar at Golaghat. The teenager died on August 15 allegedly for denial of treatment by the staff nurses of Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital demanding COVID negative certificate. The rights body has demanded the ATR within four weeks. The complainant is Monojit Singha, a human rights defender, Pandu in Guwahati.
